Hello there.
Anyone know much about these?
I’ve got one and it’s a lovely little car in really good condition.
However the gearbox is playing up. It changes gear and makes no horrible noises but judders like there’s muck in there and it’s binding. I know nothing of autos but I changed the oil as a bit of a guess and it was fine for a while but the problem has started again.
I really want to keep the car but it’s not road worthy the moment so I may have to scrap it.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you drain the oil out the bottom and then just fill back up? If you did, that only changes a bit as a lot of it stays in the box and torque converter. It's probably worth doing 1 or 2 more drain/fills if doing it once improved it for a bit.

My Carib had issues with what seemed like sticky solenoids when I first got it. The first change made a fair difference but the problem started coming back after a few miles, did another 2 drain and fills with a few miles between and it totally sorted it, still OK a few years down the line.
